Does Qantas offer any Classic Reward flights Business Class Sydney to London and return anymore. Or are they only on Economy?
Needle in a haystack.
In theory, the answer is yes. In practice, it’s extremely rare. Just do the sums: there are 16 million Qantas Frequent Flyer members, and Qantas flies between Sydney and London once per day. Even if Qantas were to release two Business Class seats on every flight (which they don’t), and even if only 5% of QFF members were interested in flying Sydney to London in Business Class, demand would so outstrip supply that snagging a seat would be akin to winning the lottery.
In Qantas’ defence, they never advertise the Qantas Frequent Flyer programme as enabling members to use points to fly to London in Business Class. If you want to use points to get to London, use another frequent flyer programme.
Many thanks for your response. Well how things have changed due to covid.
Prior to this, for 10 years we were fortunate to be able to book using points QF business class seats, many times per year, as long as you booked early. The rate was very fair. Approx 180,00 pts. Now with the introduction of Classic Plus it costs approx. 700,00 - 850,000 points per person return, Interesting indeed.
It can definitely be challenging to find those elusive Classic Reward seats, but it is possible. This article might help you in your quest:
Going around the world might be an option if it means keeping a cap on points and also allowing you to find the most elusive seats - the ones into and out of Australian cities.
Always think outside the box when looking for premium cabin reward seats - non direct routes, alternate airlines, start your search from different australian cities to your home port etc… once out of Australia your options for Oneworld alliance members/partners will open up significantly.
Best of luck!
