Can you combine 2 different points/miles for a single redemption?

Dear All,

AA has a sale on points. I have about 90000 QF points.

I need to get from the US (Boston actually but maybe even from Dallas) to Brisbane preferably in Business at least.

Is it possible to buy the AA points I need and combine it with the QF ones I have?

Hi Mark,

Unfortunately, you can’t combine or transfer between different frequent flyer points/miles in general.

You could see whether you could break your trip into 2 flights and fund 1 flight with QF points and the other with AA miles. In general it is not very efficient use of miles/points. Maybe you could use AA solely for this trip and QF in the future?
