Can someone explain what a sector is?

On the point hack guide, a example is used of Marks trip including numerous stops in Europe above the designated 5stops using the qantas RTW 35000 miles in business class.
So, are you allowed up to 16 stopovers but within 5 ‘sectors’? If so, what are the sectors?
Thanks

Hi Cindy, sectors are individual flights with different flight numbers.

For example, Perth-Doha-London on Qatar Airways would count as two sectors. In a Oneworld Classic Flight Reward, there can’t be more than 16 individual flight sectors.

Stopovers are where you have at least 24 hours or more between flights. You are limited to 5 stopovers in a Oneworld Classic Flight Reward. Transits are stops between flights of under 24 hours.
