Can I use Velocity points to account for 30kg of excess baggage when flying Sydney to London?

I have Velocity Gold and am flying Sydney/London. Prob in Qatar but open to suggestions.

I will have about 30kg excess baggage. What is the cheapest option and can I use Velocity points for bags?
