I am a newbie at collecting and using points so I am sorry if this is a silly question. I am wanting to book flights for June/July 2023. Syd > LAX then New Orleans > Syd. When looking on Webjet and directly on the American Airlines website I can see the flights I want to select for $2300. However when I look for the exact same flights through Qantas they are $3042. I would obviously prefer to book directly with AA to save some money but I’d like to earn FF points. Is this an option?
If I’m not mistaken, you can still earn Qantas points but not Qantas status points if booking via AA.
Just enter your Qantas frequent flyer details when booking. Failing that, you could do this at the checkin counter, lounge or boarding gate (last resort).
You can use https://www.wheretocredit.com/ to find out where you can credit the miles/points. Select the Airlies you are flying (American Airlines in your case) and then the booking class.
