Can I earn Velocity points on Singapore Air flights?

I am looking to book a Singapore Air flight but would like to earn velocity points so I can transfer them to a family member. Is this possible?

I am sure it is not allowed to transfer between Krisflyer members and otherwise the points will die.

I think you’re right: I don’t know of a way to transfer KrisFlyer points between family members.
