I am looking to travel to Seoul with my cousin for my friends wedding leaving Brisbane around 16/17 March and returning around 25/26 March.
We would like to fly business class if possible or premium economy is second best option. I currently have 410,873 points and wanted to know the best way to structure this to use the minimum points and also if it’s worthwhile booking saver economy upgrading or bidding.
Unless you have pretty good elite status with Qantas, it may be very low chanceofyour upgrade request being approved. However, if you never try, you never know.
For outright redemptions,
Brisbane - Seoul in business class costs 98k pts one way via Hong Kong.
Sydney-Dubai-Seoul in prem economy costs 96k pts one way.
I think your primary concern would be availability of award space since you are looking for travel next month. Best to check this by trying to book via Qantas search (click the check box "Classic Reward booking").
Personally, I try to book 11/12 mths in advance but I understand not all plans stay unchanged and so much notice is given.
