Wondering if anyone is familiar with the following:
Called Singapore Airlines (131011) to redeem an open jaw round-trip SYD-BKK; PEN-SYD business saver award flight. I want to utilise the complimentary stopover in Singapore for 5 nights, on the way back from PEN. Agent advised that utilising the open-jaw option is considered by Singapore Airlines as using up my complimentary stopover, and as such I’d need to pay the US$100 fee if I wanted to stopover in Singapore on my return journey to Sydney. Agent advised that these are per Krisflyer award T&Cs.
However I’ve read through the entire T&C, and cannot find any explicit term that suggests ‘Open Jaw’ is considered as a ‘Stopover’.
Has anyone out there had success in:
- Redeeming a round-trip business saver award flight on Singapore Airlines - with Open Jaw; and
- Received a complimentary stopover in Singapore?
