Is it possible to fly business class return direct from Melbourne to Bangkok and earn points/ transfer points to Qantas?

It doesn’t look like it’s possible with a direct flight. You’ll have to hop through Sydney or Brisbane to be able to earn Qantas points
There are some direct flights with Qantas/Jetsar, but only in Economy.
It looks like the only way to fly direct in Business class (but you won’t earn Qantas points) is on Thai Airways.
