Can anyone tell me how I can go about purchasing a day pass to the Star Alliance Lounge in LAX or any other useful ‘hacks’ to gain access?

More details like who you’re flying with would help. Obviously the easiest hack is to status match to a *A airline is you have status of any kind elsewhere?

I’ll be flying Virgin Australia Premium Economy but unfortunately with only the base (red) status that won’t help me.

You won’t be able to get into *A lounge regardless of status, etc, if flying VA.
