Where best to look for cheap flights within USA?

I am in NY for the first time ever and was looking for a flight to orlando at some point.

Where is the best place to find or look for a cheap return flight?

Are there ever any specials?

Any help would be greatly appreciated. I am on a budget and from Australia so I am a little lost.

Be aware that there are three major airports in NYC: JFK, Newark (EWR) and LaGuardia (LGA).
