I’m just beginning reward flight searching for a Business flight Australia-Brussels in October. Doesn’t matter to me which airport I fly out of but Brisbane is my home airport.
I can find a flight departing Brisbane on 20/10 (but there appears to be no problems finding business class reward flights).
First time flying with Qatar since the arrangement with Virgin. I see the first leg to Doha is Q-Suite. But the leg from Doha-Brussels is non Q-Suite.
So I tried Melbourne-Brussels and it looks the same. Non Q-Suite for the second leg.
Is that what I am going to find for every flight or should I keep looking to find both legs in Q-Suite?
Not every Qatar widebody is fitted with Q-Suites, and Qatar seems to save the Q-Suite planes for the longest (eg. Australia, USA) and most premium (eg. London, Paris) routes. I’ve flown Qatar three times between Doha and Europe (Edinburgh, Paris, Munich) and only the Paris flight had Q-Suites. I’m currently about to book Qatar between Geneva and Doha and those flights don’t have Q-Suites either.
Bear in mind a couple of things:
Most of Qatar’s flights betweeen Doha and Europe are short-ish (6 hours or less), daytime flights.
On the non Q-Suite flights you’ll still have an extremely comfortable Business class seat, with the same excellent Qatar food, beverage, entertainment and service (including dine-on-demand). From experience they’ll even give you pyjamas if you ask.
If nevertheless you really want to fly on a Q-Suite betweeen Doha and Europe, I’d have a look at flights to/from Paris (though finding the odd Q-Suite plane to Brussels can’t be ruled out). Having said that, in my opinion changing your travel plans for a 6-hour daytime flight just for the sake of flying on a Q-Suite is not something I can see the point of doing.
